Help Women Survive Covid-19 Posted at 4:10 PM (PDT) on Monday, September 7, 2020
View this post on Instagram I am a proud Ambassador of @womenforwomenuk who have an opportunity, thanks to a generous group of donors, to match pound for pound every donation made now until Thursday 10th September. This means all donations during this period will be doubled, at no extra cost. As we all know, the Coronavirus pandemic has shaken our society to its core: it disrupted our businesses, halted our social lives and had a devastating impact on the lives and families of too many. COVID-19 has also served as a reminder that the existing, long-term challenges we face as a global community are exacerbated in times of crisis. For women living in the world’s most fragile countries, these challenges have been shattering. Confronted with rising poverty, hunger, violence, and isolation, women survivors of war - who already tend to be unheard and unseen – are being hit the hardest. In the face of this dynamic pandemic, our support will enable Women for Women to continue to develop innovative ways to stay in touch with the women in their programmes and to provide them with life-saving knowledge on health and wellness, economic and social empowerment resources.
