Gillian Anderson Sends Cheeky Message to X-Files Fans @ NYCC

Gillian Anderson was halfway around the world on Saturday when The-X-Files‘ panel/screening was getting underway at New York Comic-Con, but that didn’t stop the Emmy winner from making a surprise cameo at the event.

To the delight of fans, Scully’s portrayer appeared via a taped message from Jodhpur, India, where she is currently on location filming the British-Indian period drama Viceroy’s House.

Anderson apologized for not being able to join series creator Chris Carter and co-stars David Duchovny and Mitch Pileggi on the dais, but here’s the funny twist: She delivered the communiqué while in character as English heiress Edwina Mountbatten — her alter ego in Viceroy’s House.
