Dear auction participants, donors and volunteers,

Each year I work closely with GA.ws administrators, with Neurofibromatosis, Inc. and with Gillian to help ensure that the annual online auction to benefit NF, Inc. runs smoothly and fairly. Each year I am dazzled by the generosity, loyalty and good will generated by the auction participants. This seventh and final NF auction, although smaller than previous years, was a most happy and successful event. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. I can't thank you enough for all you've done over the years.

NF, Inc. has worked tirelessly to reach out to NF-affected individuals and families, to educate countless thousands about neurofibromatosis, to point the way to the best medical care, to encourage research among scholars, and to offer hope to those discouraged by the burden of an NF diagnosis. These many accomplishments would not have been possible without your support. You have provided our life-blood.

Some followers have submitted ideas for new fundraisers in which Gillian could participate. Those suggestions will be reviewed and evaluated over the next few months. Keep your ideas coming! They're great! And of course I invite you all to join in future projects to fight the good fight against NF. Keep your eyes on GA.ws.

Blessings on you all,

Rosemary Anderson and family

Posted at 12:02 AM (PDT) on Sunday, September 14, 2003

Gillian is scheduled to participate in the Theatre Royal's Masterclass Autumn 2003 season.

From trh.co.uk:

Thursday 20 November: Gillian Anderson

Well known for her work as Special Agent Dana Scully on The X-Files, Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actress Gillian Anderson has certainly bridged the gap from television to film and from film to staring in a West End show in London this year: What the Night is For. As well as the X-Files Gillian Anderson's film roles include: House of Mirth and Playing By Heart. The format of this event is yet to be confirmed, but it is likely to based around the different disciplines of film, theatre and television acting.

Thank you to everyone who sent this information in.

New Layout
Posted at 4:50 PM (PDT) on Friday, September 12, 2003

 How the site should look
Our newly renovated site is best viewed with Internet Explorer v. 6.0 and up, Netscape v. 6.2 and up, or the latest version of Opera. Recommended screen resolution is 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600.

If you're using one of these viewing methods and experience any difficulties with the new layout, please contact us right away so that we can fix the problem.

A few sections are coming soon: Gillian's favorites, the store, and video clips. We hope to have these up and running within the next week. Also, there may be some minor changes, fixes, and improvements made within the next few days, so please bear with us.

Thank you for your patience, and enjoy!

New Book Mentions Gillian
Posted at 3:35 PM (PDT) on Tuesday, September 9, 2003

book
From the Sunday Express (September 7, 2003), Pg. 66:

Book Review: "UP CLOSE & PERSONAL" by Jeff Dunas, Cameron Diaz (foreword)

Dunas is fascinated by the intangible qualities of fame, and in this pictorial essay he uses the power of his lens to query why we as an audience find it so easy to transpose our secret desires on to celebrities and what in turn makes them so special. Angelina Jolie, Kate Winslet, Gillian Anderson, Martin Sheen and Bob Hoskins are just some of those he calls "normal people who have the indefinable power to attract and entertain".

Up Close & Personal is available to pre-order from Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk.

As always, if you order through our links, a percentage of the cost of your purchase will benefit NF, Inc. Thank you!

Oh my God, I was just informed of the amount that was raised for Gilbert and Buskaid and I am absolutely speechless. I read this email shortly after reading one directly from Gilbert speaking to his excitement about going off to school in another country and his heartfelt gratitude for all the financial and emotional support he has received from me and my fans and all I can say is that you should all be so pleased with yourselves for contributing to a huge and positive change in one person's life situation and opportunities for the future.

You are all angels, truly.

Buckets of gratitude,

Gillian.

Gillian in Shape Magazine
Posted at 5:44 PM (PDT) on Saturday, September 6, 2003

shape magazine

There's a picture of Gillian on page 193 of the October issue of Shape Magazine.

"Get a faux glow. Celebrities know that sun exposure is harmful -- that’s why most of them get their bronze from a bottle. Gillian Anderson, 35, Téa Leoni, 37, and Elle MacPherson, 39, all have been 'tanned' at the Absolute Spa at the Century Plaza Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia, using Au Courant's Body Bronzing Treatment."

Thanks Ellie.
